Today is the day! We are weighing-in and taking those dreaded “before pictures.”
I have to admit that I hadn’t stepped on a scale in months until last week when I visited my doctor. Okay, I didn’t actually look when I stepped on the scale because I just wasn’t ready to hear those dreaded numbers. I did, however, check in with my doctor to let her know of my plans. I recommend consulting your family doctor before you embark on any weight loss program or exercise program. I promised my doctor that I would not only document my weight loss progress but also my blood pressure.
Because this is our first weigh-in, we decided that each one of us would write about our goals in our own words. Me first!
My name is Paige and I am 5’2″ tall. Today I weigh 253 lbs. which is by the far the heaviest I have ever been in my life. I attribute this to many things including jumping from one diet to another throughout my teen years and all of my adult life. Each diet proving more complex and difficult to maintain than the last. Once I lost the weight – and I did lose weight – I had no idea how to maintain a healthy weight.
My weight loss goal is to reach 120lbs – a loss of 133lbs. Yes, I am planning on losing the equivalent weight of an entire human being. It’s pretty overwhelming when you look at it from that perspective so I have decided to break my weight loss objective into three less daunting goals:
- 205lbs. or a weight loss of 48lbs is my first goal.
- 161lbs. or a weight loss of an additional 44lbs is my second goal.
- 120lbs. or a weight loss of an additional 41lbs is my final goal.
The first tool that I have chosen to help me along this weight loss journey is Weight Watchers Online/Plus. Because I spend most of my work day in the virtual world, it makes sense to me to utilize an online tool to help me with portion control and making healthy choices.
How do I feel at this moment? I am excited and hopeful. I will reach my goal this time and I will maintain that goal because if I don’t make lasting changes now, I never will.
Hi, I’m Brett. I am 46 years old, 5’9″ tall and about 100 lbs heavier than I should be. Today, I weighed in at 249lbs. My weight loss goal is to reach 149 pounds or three fifths of my current mass.
I joined Weight Watchers Online/Plus plan too. I hope that it will motivate me along with my friends and family to loose weight, become healthier and enjoy a better quality of life.
Since this blog is all about being honest, I have to admit that I have a weakness for donuts and sweets, have a tendency to stress eat and have a bad habit of cleaning off my kids’ plates after they finish picking through “the good stuff.”
Along with “watching” what I eat, I also plan to walk a lot more, stretch more, pick up my yoga practice again and learn to focus on the quality of foods rather than the quantity.
I am looking forward to writing weekly blog posts about such fascinating subject as snoring, donut lust, the power of juicing and being able to see my feet again. How do I feel at this moment? Like a man standing at the bottom of an enormous mountain that he must climb to get to the other side – overwhelmed, nervous, hopeful, inspired and looking forward to the day when I reach my goal.
My name is Lennie. I am 5′ 5″ tall, 51 years old and a proud grandma. As of today, I weight 196 lbs. but my goal weight is 130 lbs which I have broken down into three targets:
- 174 is the first target which would be a loss of 22 lbs.
- 152 is my second goal with a loss of another 22 lbs.
- 130 is my final goal with a total loss of 66 lbs.
I am also going to use Weight Watchers Online/Plus as a weight loss tool. I have used the Weight Watchers program before and understand how it works. I have lost weight with it in the past and am confident that it will actually help me achieve my weight loss goal and maintain a healthy weight. The online program and apps help with meal planning and grocery shopping which makes life easier. In addition to Weight Watchers, I plan to start walking 2-3 time a week.
My motivation for losing weight is my grandson. I want to be more active and healthier so I can keep up with him. I also want to feel good about myself.
At this moment, I am feeling excited and ready to go.
