While treking through the web lately, I have stumbled upon the terms body positivity, fat feminism, sizism and the positive body image movement. While beginning to explore these concepts a bit further, I have found that there is a vast amount of information on the web with conflicting ideas, thoughts and definitions of body positivity.
Yesterday, I came across an excerpt from the book “Health at Every Size: The Surprising Truth About Your Weight” © 2010 by Linda Bacon. This excerpt is entitled “What You Can Do” and it reads:

Embrace size diversity. Humans come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Open to the beauty found across the spectrum and support others in recognizing their unique attractiveness.
